State of the County

The 2011 State of the County, held April 6, 2011 at Million Air at San Bernardino International Airport, provided hundreds of members of the business community, residents, civic, and education leaders with an opportunity to gain insight into the County’s proactive Visioning Process. Watch the video below:

The Visioning Process gathered input from hundreds of citizens at community meetings held throughout the county, thousands of online surveys, and business roundtables with more than 25 expert groups including retail, environment, home building, military, education, health care, and commercial real estate. The Process will help produce a shared vision that provides a predictable, welcoming environment for businesses looking to grow and invest in the County.

“For the first time in the history of San Bernardino County, all 24 cities and towns and the County are working together to create a vision of our future. San Bernardino County has a growing body of work demonstrating innovative and collaborative solutions to critical issues,” said Board of Supervisors Chair Josie Gonzales, who represents the Fifth District.

“Understanding our community as a system and ways in which we all inter-connect, as well as understanding the larger regional, statewide, national and global context in which we exist, is key to knowing how to prioritize and allocate resources. Through this process we can invest our energies in aligning priorities with our collective vision for the County.”
